This page actually begins with December 25, 2001, a few days after Kazuya and I first met. It goes through the end of 2002. These photos were originally posted back in 2002, but were somehow "lost" until recently. Now that they have been found, We are going to the effort to repost them - with the hope that they may be enjoyed by a few people. Click on any thumbnail to begin. |

The first photo here shows "sample foods". There are several companies which make these plastic foods for display in restaurant windows - it's really amazing. This sushi looks so real. This was one of the first outings which Kazuya and I went on together. It was Christmas Day, 2001, so most of the stores were closed. The 2nd shot was taken at the Ramen Museum in Shin-Yokohama. Kazuya and I visited it on January 15, 2002. It was impressive and it had several kinds of ramen to try. Surprisingly, we have never visited there again.

The first shot in this row was taken on March 4th at Hama-Rikyu Garden. It was not night - the night effect was added later. The next shot was taken on May 5th and is a very nice shot of a small branch of Plum Blossoms. The 3rd shot was taken on May 14th at Asakusa Shrine, in downtown Tokyo.

The flower collage was created on May 14th. The poppy photo and the images in the collage were taken on June 3rd at Koganei Park.

The first 2 shots, of Spotted Campanula, were taken at Hakone on June 22nd. I created the 3rd collage on June 30th.

The photos used in the first and third collages were taken on August 11th at Mt. Mitake. The Lotus Flower photo (out of chronological order for balance) was taken at Ueno Park on August 25th.

The Phoenix Flower shot was taken on August 26th at Jindai Botanical Garden, in the greenhouse. The 2 amazing sunset shots were taken on September 22nd from the summit of Mt. Kumotori.

Kazuya made 2 or 3 of these amazing "60 triangle" paper balls. They are about 6 inches (15 cm) in height, but I inserted an image of myself in this shot, taken on October 1st, to give the impression that the ball is huge! The 2 Autumn Color shots were taken near Mitake, along the Upper Tama River, on November 18th.

The first shot was taken near our apartment on November 19th. The 2nd Panorama, of Tokyo Tower, was taken on December 12th. You can find a night Panorama of Tokyo Tower HERE (new window or tab). This photo was taken on December 12th. The 3rd photo - we went to Yamanaka Lake and stayed at the Marimo Lodge for the pre-Christmas holidays in 2002. This photo was taken as we hiked from the bus terminal to Marimo Lodge on December 23rd. It was snowing like hell!

All 3 of these photos were taken on December 23rd at Yamanaka Lake. The first one was taken as we continued hiking to Marimo Lodge. The 2nd and 3rd photos were taken from the window of our room at Marimo Lodge.

After dinner on December 23rd we took a walk to see the snow. These 3 shots were all taken on our night walk near the Marimo Lodge.

Here are 2 final shots taken on our night walk near Marimo Lodge on December 23rd. The 2nd shot is the lodge - taken as we returned from our walk. The 3rd shot - December 24th shows the owners telling us goodbye.

The first photo here is the final one from our trip to Yamanaka Lake. It was taken on December 24th just before we left for home on the bus. The final shot was taken on Christmas Day, 2002. It is the Christmas Tree at the International Christian University, near our apartment. We thought this was a pretty cheap Christmas display for a rich Christian University.
