This page continues December 19th, at 4:12:00, just as the sun creates the "Diamond" on "Diamond Fuji" Day 2015. Of course this is not a one day only phenomenon, it can happen for 3 or 4 days around the Winter Solstice, but one needs clear weather AND the opportunity to make it to the summit of Mt. Takao. This page also shows one "Diamond Fuji" photo from each of the years that I have witnessed it. In addition, You can also find a list of mountains which we climbed during 2015 on this page.  Click on any thumbnail to begin.

December 19th Continues (at 4:12:00 PM) |
The first shot in this row was taken at 4:12:00 and a lot of people are "ohhhh-ing" and "ahhhhh-ing" about now. The second shot was taken at 4:12:06 and this is pretty much the best Diamond Effect from this particular sunset. The third shot is the same photo as the second one, cropped and adjusted to accentuate the Diamond. |

Now, at 4:12:10, the sun is gone! The second shot was taken at 4:12:24 and the third shot at 4:12:56. In all three of these shots you can see the powder snow blowing around at the Mt. Fuji summit. |

As I looked up through this heavily galled Oak Tree I noticed the moon sitting there saying "I too am photogenic" so I took some shots of it, as well as pointing it out to some other folks who seemed not to notice it. One guy asked me if I could please move it so that it would be directly over Mt. Fuji, but I told him that I could not except with Photoshop. |

End Past Year's Diamond Fuji's, Begin Mountains Climbed During 2015 |
Here you can find a list of all the mountains which we, or I alone, climbed during Calendar Year 2015. Note that only 22 mountains were climbed during 2015 - although certainly not 22 different ones. Numbers in parenthesis (e.g. #108) indicate the number of times I have climbed that mountain since I've been in Japan. You might notice that we only climbed 6 new mountains during 2015. |
