This page begins with some photos taken around our home and garden until May 28th. On May 28th we went to the Twelvemile Summit and Eagle Summit areas in search of the very first spring flowers that appear in those mountains. We found them, as you will see in Rows 4 through 15. After that there is one more row, which shows the very latest image of our garden. Click on any thumbnail to begin.

Begin May 3rd through 22nd |
These three shots were all taken at home. The first shot shows that there is still snow in the garden on May 3rd, the second shot shows the result of another small snowfall on May 6th, and the third shot, taken on May 7th, is a 3-shot panorama that was taken from the upstairs east window. |

On May 28th we went to the mountains - specifically we went to Twelvemile Summit and Eagle Summit, on the Steese Highway. We were in search of the early spring flowers that come out in the high mountains. In this row you see Woolly Lousewort (Pedicularis lanata), Alaska Kittentails (Synthyris borealis), and the rare Alaska Blue Anemone (Anemone multiceps). |

In this row, you see the Alaska Blue Anemone (Anemone multiceps) at the Twelvemile Summit Area, along with a Willow Ptarmigan (Lagopus lagopus) as it transitions from its winter plumage to its summer plumage. You may need to search a little bit to find the ptarmigan in the third shot. |

Here are two final shots of our garden. I should actually call it "Kazuya's Garden" as all I did was build the raised bed boxes. I have a feeling that this is going to be amazing to see as soon as things start to bloom. |
