This page begins with our only major adventure of July, a trip up to Twelvemile And Eagle Summits for the peak of the summer wildflowers. You will see those photos in Rows 1 - 9. In Row 10 are two shots of a local strange flower, and then in Rows 11 - 21 you will find the best photos of the first four days of our vacation. Click on any thumbnail to begin.

Begin July 3rd & 4th
On July 3rd and 4th we could be found in the mountains - specifically, Twelvemile and Eagle Summits, along with a location that we call Diversity Gulch. In this first row, you see photos of Frigid Shooting Star (Dodecatheon frigidum) and Alpine Forget-Me-Not (Myosotis asiatica).

This dense clustering of these yellow flowers was found not far from our house. We'd never seen it before and had to take some photos. What is it?

Now we are on vacation - for the remainder of the website this month are vacation photos. On the first day we had several things to take care of in Fairbanks before we were ready to leave. We left home sometime around 6:00 PM with the intention of just getting "on the road". We stopped for the night about 130 miles or so from home, at the Gerstle River Bridge, some 20 miles east of Delta Junction.

On the second day we crossed into Canada on our way to Haines, Alaska. Here is Kazuya, standing in the USA for the first photo, and in Canada for the second photo.

This is still Day #2, some swans and cygnets on an unknown lake in Yukon Territory, Canada. We stopped at the Congdon Creek Campground for the night - it is at Destruction Bay on Kluane Lake, Y.T., Canada.

Now it's Day #3 of our vacation. We passed the Sheep Mountain Area in Canada and continued on. The third shot was taken at Kathleen Lake. We stopped here again later in the trip, so please expect to see additional photos of this lake, taken on a less smoky day.
