This page continues where Page 2 ended - on August 9th at 1:05 PM, while driving north in Tombstone Territorial Park on Canada's Dempster Highway. We drove to the north boundary of the park and turned around there to return to the Tombstone Mountain Campground for a second night. On the following day we drove to the Taylor Highway, in Alaska, and then on August 11th we drove from the Walker Fork Campground on the Taylor Highway, to our home in Fairbanks. What an amazing vacation it was. Click on any thumbnail to begin.

August 9th Continues from Page 2 (at 1:05 PM)
It's still Day #9 of our vacation and we are still driving north on the Dempster Highway through the Tombstone Territorial Park, Y.T., Canada. Here are three more amazing photos of this country.

This is Mount Vines - we kept seeing it off in the distance for a long time, shrouded in smoke. Finally we came around a curve and there it was, no longer behind other ridges and mountains. The second shot marks the northern boundary of the Tombstone Territorial Park. The lake is Chapman Lake if you want to go back and look at the map again.

Now we are headed back south on the Dempster Highway, from Chapman Lake. The second shot again shows the view from the Tombstone Range Viewpoint, note how much the smoke has increased from earlier in the day.

Now it's Day #10 of our vacation. Today we'll drive back south on the Dempster Highway, go into Dawson City and do some sightseeing, cross the Yukon River on the free ferry, and drive along The Top of the World Highway. The first two shots here were again taken at the Tombstone Range Viewpoint, note how much worse the smoke is today, we can't see the Tombstone Range at all. As we were leaving, Kazuya spotted this amazing caribou, isn't it a beauty.

There was a lot of this green rock around here, anybody know what it is? A magnet will stick to the black areas. The center photo shows an historic building in Dawson City. The third shot is the largest (of two) supermarkets in Dawson City.

The third photo is the only photo we'll show you from the final day of our vacation, Day #11. It shows us driving south on the Taylor Highway. We arrived back at our home later on in the afternoon. It was an amazing vacation.
