Some Violets of Eastern Japan - 2nd Edition

This work shows 103 images, on 120 pages, which present about 70 species, subspecies, varieties and/or forms of violets (Viola sp.) which we have identified with enough confidence so that we have added them to our “life list” of violets we have seen. This book is not a comprehensive listing of the violets which can be found in Eastern Japan, nor is it a comprehensive guide to field identification, it merely shows an interested viewer/reader some violets which can be seen without having to spend a large sum of money on travel.

HERE is a PDF file of the 8 x 10 inch PAPERBACK EDITION of this book (new window). It is 6.54 MB in size. It's COMPLETE, but Watermarked, secured against printing and PDF'd at the lowest possible quality - all in an attempt to prevent theft. I suggest that you right click on the link and select "Save Link As". Then after it's downloaded to your Hard Drive in a place where you can find it again, open it in Adobe Reader - version 9 or later (very important - it most likely will not open in a version earlier than 9).
N.B. When you view the file in Adobe Acrobat please go to the "View" Menu Item and select "Page Display", "Two-Up" and also "Show Cover Page During Two Up". This will allow you to view it as it will appear in print - with odd numbered pages on the right side and even numbered pages on the left.

HERE is a link (new window) to our web page showing most of the violets which we have identified with a very high degree of confidence. The images on this page are similar to those which may be found in the book shown above.
