This is Page 3 of 3 - the best of December 2014!

As stated at the bottom of Page 2, this page continues December 19th at 4:05 PM. On this page you'll see the final 27 minutes of the sunset over Mt. Fuji - which is generally called "Diamond Fuji" - from the summit of Mt. Takao. The closest I achieved to catching a "Diamond Fuji" is the 3rd photo in Row 6. If atmospheric conditions are just right then one can see a "Diamond" for a few seconds just as the sun sinks below the rim of Mt. Fuji. This page also includes the table and chart of all mountains climbed during 2014.  Click on any thumbnail to begin.

December 19th continues from Page 2 (at 4:05 PM)
Here are two images taken at 4:05 PM. The first one is the original photo, which has only been framed. The second one has been Auto-Toned with Photoshop® - note how that reduced the orange and brought out more of the "natural" blue in the sky. The closest we have ever seen to a "Diamond Fuji" and the best photos we have ever gotten were taken back on December 19th, 2009 and you can view those best photos HERE.
Same thing with these two images shot at 4:07 PM - the first one is the original, which has only been framed, and the second one has been Auto-Toned, again, reducing the orange and bringing out more of the blue.
And, here is the same thing with a photo taken at 4:11 PM.
All three images in this row were shot as Digital Negatives and processed. The second and third images again show the original vs. an Auto-Toned rendition of it. The time now is 4:14 PM.
Now it's 4:15 PM and here are another pair of images in which the first one is the original and the second one has been Auto-Toned.
Now, at 4:17 PM and 4:18 PM, the sun is disappearing behind Mt. Fuji and it appears that we will not get a "Diamond" today. Again, the first two images show an original and an Auto-Toned rendition. The third shot is zoomed out, and this is the closest I got to having a "Diamond Fuji" shot this year.
The first two images again show an original and an Auto-Toned rendition of it - taken at 4:18 PM. The third shot was taken at 4:19 PM and the sun is now gone.
The three shots in this row were taken at 4:21, 4:23:30 and 4:25 PM respectively.
Here are the final two images of my "Diamond Fuji" adventure from this year. The first one is again an original and the second one has been Auto-Toned. The time was 4:32 PM. I stayed here until 4:45 PM hoping something would happen which was interesting, but it did not. Much to my surprise, there were not many people here for "Diamond Fuji" viewing this year. With the weather forecast for the next few days as it was - rainy, cloudy weather - I truly expected the place to be jammed with hundreds of people today, but there were only maybe 30 - 40 people here. That was actually rather shocking.

End December 19th, End December 2014's Photos, Begin Mountains Climbed During 2014
Here you can find a list of all the mountains which we, or I alone, climbed during Calendar Year 2014. Note that only 29 mountains were climbed during 2014 - although certainly not 29 different ones. Numbers in parenthesis (e.g. #102) indicate the number of times I have climbed that mountain since I've been in Japan. You might notice that we only climbed 3 new mountains during 2014.

Here are links to separate web pages - all of them will open in a new window (or new tab). The first link shows some photos of our DVD Collection, an AVI Movie of our Home Theater System and 9 photos of our Sharp Aquos TV. The 2nd link shows our entire DVD collection in DVD Profiler (if you're asking yourself what might be good to rent for the weekend). The DVD's will be sorted by date purchased. You can click on the "Title" Column to sort that way if you desire. The 3rd link shows our entire DVD collection in php DVD Profiler, which is much more sophisticated than the plain vanilla DVD Profiler just above it. The 4th link takes you to a set of pages which show you the FRONT cover-art of our entire DVD collection.
